You saw a little clay ad in your feed, and now you want one for your business. Then you search for an AI claymation video generator and find a wall of tools that all say they are the easiest.

The best AI claymation video generator depends on how much of the work you want to do. On paper, Hooked comes closest to a finished short, with voice and captions, and Anijam suits talking clay characters. Every tool still leaves the ad to you, so a busy owner is better off with a done-for-you team like ours, 30 Second Ad Factory.

The good news is you don't need to try them all. We opened the pages of 8 tools on November 5, 2026. Below you will find what each one costs, what it leaves you to do, and when it makes more sense to hand the job to a team.

Key takeaways

  • Regular paid plans in this guide start between $10 and $29 a month on monthly billing.
  • The lowest plan often lacks what an ad needs most, such as the same character in every shot.
  • Hooked is the only tool whose pages we opened that builds captions into its clay video steps.
  • With every tool, you choose the message, fix the shots and finish the ad yourself.
  • For a busy owner, our pick is a done-for-you team: you approve the words and scenes, and that is the whole job.

What is an AI claymation video generator?

An AI claymation video generator is a tool that makes video that looks like moving modeling clay, using words or a picture you give it. Nobody sculpts anything. Flick sums it up well: you skip the clay figures and the frame-by-frame shoot.

The clay is a look, not real clay. Real stop motion uses real objects, moved a little for each photo, while AI tools make the pictures and movement with software. If you want the real thing, our guide to hand-made stop motion videos covers who should buy it.

The catch most tool pages skip is simple. These tools make clips, and a clip is not an ad. An ad also needs a script, a voice, words on screen, your logo, your offer and the right size for a phone.

Keep that list in mind as you read the prices below.

What is the best AI claymation video generator in 2026?

The best AI clay tool depends on the job: Hooked for a short with voice and captions, Anijam for talking characters, and Morphic or Flick for directing each shot. Eight are worth a look in 2026: Hooked, Anijam, Morphic, Flick, Mootion, Magic Hour, Runway and Pika.

The first six have pages built for clay video. Runway and Pika are general AI video tools, so the clay look comes from what you type.

Prices below come from each provider's own page, checked November 5, 2026. Prices change, so check before you buy.

A few notes on that table. Hooked marks its Claymation preset as pro, so plan on a paid plan or its $89 one-time app. That app needs your own API keys, which are paid accounts at AI services.

Flick also has a cheaper Casual plan, but its pricing page showed no dollar price, so the $20 comes from its clay page. Morphic and Mootion also sell education plans. Anijam also shows a higher $25 beside its Beginner plan and does not explain it.

Magic Hour showed us pounds, not dollars, and its prices leave out tax. We could not open Pollo AI's pages, so its clay tool is not in the table.

We did not run a paid quality test of these tools, and we did not find an independent one. Most "best of" lists we opened were written by a company that sells one of the tools.

Many of these tools run on outside video models. Opus's May 2026 guide rates Veo 3 best for clay texture, Kling 3.0 for expressions and Seedance 2.0 for animating still clay images. Hooked defaults to Veo 3.1 Lite, and Flick and Pika offer Seedance 2.5.

What do you still do yourself with each tool?

With every AI clay tool, you still choose the message, shape the shots, fix bad clips and finish the ad yourself. The tools differ in how much help they give along the way. "Not listed" below means the page we opened did not mention it.

On its pages, Hooked cuts the most steps, and that is worth real credit. You are still the writer, the director and the person who checks every scene.

Think of a tool like a good pipe wrench. It helps a lot, but it does not fix the leak by itself.

Why is the cheapest plan often not enough?

The cheapest plan is often not enough because the features an ad needs tend to sit one plan higher. An ad needs the same character in every shot and a sharp picture. Those two things often cost extra.

Four examples from the pages we opened:

  • Anijam: Beginner at $16 lists 0 for Consistent Character and export up to 720P. Creator at $26, billed $312 a year, lists 10 and 1080P.
  • Flick: Character reference starts on Standard, not Casual. Some video models, such as Seedance 2.5, also need Standard.
  • Runway: At 12 credits a second, one 30-second pass on Gen-4.5 uses 360 of the 625 monthly credits on Standard. That is about 58% of the plan, and one full redo would run past it. Runway's cheaper Gen-4 Turbo stretches the same plan to about 104 seconds. At the Gen-4.5 rate, 18 to 30 five-second clips would use 1,080 to 1,800 credits.
  • Pika: Starter's 900 credits buy about 7 clips of Seedance 2.5 at 720p and 5 seconds, or about 45 on Pika 2.5. The 18 to 30 clips in the example below would not fit on Seedance 2.5.

Free plans are a way to look around, not a way to finish an ad. Morphic's free plan gives up to 20 credits, and Mootion lists no free plan on its pricing page. Pika's free plan has no monthly credits, and Magic Hour gives a free account 400 signup credits.

Pro tip: Before you pay, find the line for character reference on the plan page, not only the price.

Why do AI clay clips rarely work as an ad on the first try?

AI clay clips rarely work as an ad on the first try because results change from one try to the next. Opus says in its May 2026 guide to make 3 to 5 versions of a clip, since the clay texture varies. That is one tool maker's advice, not a lab test, but it matches what the tool pages tell you to do.

Say you run a small dental office and want a 30-second ad. Picture 6 shots of 5 seconds each. At 3 to 5 tries per shot, that is 18 to 30 clips to make and watch, before you add a voice or a single word on screen.

The same few problems come up again and again:

  • The character changes. Flick suggests a sheet with front, side and back views to use as a reference for each shot.
  • The movement looks too smooth. Flick says video models move smoothly by default, so you have to write the jerky stop-motion rhythm into your prompt.
  • The size is wrong. Opus tells readers to reframe wide clips to 9:16 (the tall phone shape), then add captions and soft music.
  • The ad has no point. A cute clay scene with no offer is just a cute clay scene. You still need to say what you do and what to do next.

How can you test an AI clay tool before you pay?

You can test an AI clay tool before you pay by making one short scene on two free plans and comparing the results. Set aside one evening. Flick gives 300 credits to start, then 100 a week, Runway gives 125 credits one time, and Anijam has a free trial with no credit card, plus free credits from daily check-ins.

Step 1: Write one scene from your real ad

Pick a scene your customer would know. Do not test with a cute robot, because your ad will not have one.

Here is a sample prompt you can copy and change:

A small clay dentist in a bright clay office waves at a clay family. Plasticine look, fingerprint marks, handmade set, jerky stop-motion movement, tall 9:16 video.

Step 2: Run the same words on two tools

Paste the same prompt into both tools. Change nothing, or you will not know which tool made the difference.

Pro tip: Use your real offer in the test, such as a free checkup for new patients. It shows you fast how much of the ad is still left to do.

Step 3: Make the same character twice

Ask for a second scene with the same dentist. If the face or coat changes, your 6-shot ad will have the same problem.

Step 4: Watch it on your phone with the sound off

Picture someone seeing it on a small screen with no sound. Can you tell what it is about? If not, plan on adding words on screen.

Step 5: Time yourself

Note how long the two scenes took, then multiply by 3 for a 6-shot ad. Add time for the voice, the words and the edit. That number, not the monthly price, is the real cost of a tool.

Should you use a tool, a gig seller or an ad team?

Use a tool if you enjoy making videos and want lots of versions, and use a done-for-you team if you want a finished ad without learning anything new. For a busy owner, the team is the best fit. Here is how the three stack up:

  • An AI tool is for the hobbyist owner. If editing is fun for you, a monthly plan gives you plenty to play with. You do all the work, and the hours are yours.
  • A marketplace gig is a mixed bag. Sites such as Fiverr list clay videos from many sellers. In our view, quality is often low and uneven, there is a lot of back and forth, and you are not dealing with a professional marketing team.
  • A done-for-you team is for the owner with no spare evenings. You hand over the job and approve the result.

We have a fuller side-by-side in AI video ad agency or AI video tool.

How does a done-for-you clay ad work?

At 30 Second Productions, you never write a prompt, edit a video or learn an app. Your job is to tell us about your business and approve the work.

  1. Fill in a 2-minute form about your business.
  2. Read the script. We write it, or we use your words. You approve every word.
  3. Look at a clay picture for each line and approve the scenes. You get 2 free rounds of changes.
  4. Get your finished ad about 24 hours after you approve the scenes.

Being open about it: we make these with AI tools for the clay pictures, movement and voice, and our team checks every video before it reaches you. The ad comes in a tall size for social media, with every word on screen so it works with the sound off, and your logo and offer on the last scene.

We make the ad, but we do not run your ads. You own the video and can use it in any ad, on your website, anywhere. It is made in your own Ad Factory dashboard, where you can order more ads any time.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free AI claymation video generator?

Yes, a few tools have free options, but they are small. Flick gives 300 credits to start, then 100 a week, Runway gives 125 credits one time, and Morphic gives up to 20 credits. Those credits may cover a short test, not a full 30-second ad with redos.

Which AI clay tool adds voice and captions?

Hooked lists both on its claymation page, with voices and word-level captions as steps in making the video. Morphic has a Speech tool for voice, and Magic Hour has separate voice and subtitle tools. The Anijam and Flick clay pages we opened did not mention captions.

Can I turn a photo into a claymation video?

Yes, several AI clay tools start from a picture. Mootion edits a reference picture first, Magic Hour turns one photo into a 5-second clip, and Anijam also accepts an image. You will still need more shots, a voice and an offer for an ad.

How long does a 30-second AI clay ad take to make yourself?

No one has published a measured number we could find. Our rough estimate is 6 to 10 hours for a first ad, because you make and watch 18 to 30 clips, then add a voice and edit. A timed test on one scene will give you your own number.

Does the clay look suit every business?

No, the clay look does not suit every message. Opus's 2026 guide says clay feels cozy and handmade, so it can clash with urgent messages, finance and sleek software. Try it where a warm, friendly tone helps.

Will a clay ad bring in more customers?

Nobody can promise that, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Any ad depends on your offer, your audience and your budget. The clay look may help your ad stand out, but the only way to know is to test it.

The short version

These tools can make clay-style clips for $10 to $29 a month on monthly billing. On paper, Hooked gets closest to a finished short, Anijam suits talking characters, and Morphic and Flick suit people who like to direct. All of them leave the script, the fixes and the finish to you.

So here is our plain verdict. If you enjoy the work, pick a tool and run the test above.

If you are busy running your business, a done-for-you team is the best option. Our claymation ads are $97 one-time, often half price in our holiday sales, with a money-back guarantee if you are not happy within 30 days.

This last one is ours too, made for our own song ad service.
